
Motivational Interviewing Skills Workshop Series
Ambivalence is a natural part of change. This workshop focuses on using strategic reflections to explore mixed feelings, deepen self-awareness, and help people hear their own motivations for change in a supportive, person-centered way.
Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize and differentiate sustain talk, change talk, and ambivalence within statements.
2. Demonstrate effective use of reflective listening, including simple, complex, and double-sided reflections.
3. Apply strategic reflections to explore ambivalence and guide conversations toward change talk while supporting autonomy.
